“Amor De Mulher” by Luli E Lucina (Nós Lá Em Casa Records NLEC-002, 1982)

Psych folk atmospherics from two gorgeous Brazilian vocalists, some bossa, some samba, all really gentle & detached. I’d love to know if there was a “scene” around this record, because I’d try to track down everything that sounded similar. Tons of exotic instruments, really sacred sounding, some sonic experimentation… it reminds me of a more folk pop version of Simon Fisher Turner’s “Deux Filles” LP. My favorite track is “India Puri.” Lovely thumb piano & finger picked acoustic guitar… stunning vocal percussion. There aren’t too many records like this out there. Comes with lyric inner sleeve.

Should appeal to fans of Jaime & Nair, Joyce & Nelson Angelo, the quieter stuff on Gal Costa’s first two LPs, the more spacey Quarteto Em Cy stuff, “The Empty Boat” by Caetano Veloso, BJ Ward, Wendy & Bonnie, Linda Perhacs, Stormy Forest label stuff, Alan Trajan, Christine Harwood, Sunforest, Margo Guryan, Lyn Christopher, Barbara & Ernie, etc.

Condition: Cover = VG+ (Some edge wear & scuffing on gatefold cover)/ Record = EX (no spindle marks, some light sleeve scuffs)
